Good article from CNN titled- Dear Mr. President: Buffalo needs ‘freakin’ jobs, billboard says.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/05/13/buffalo.billboard/index.html

Thanks for coming to New York Mr. President. It’s nice to see you are taking a moment to recognize the massive unemployment that grips our country. Of course you’ll then head to Manhattan for a massive fundraiser with Wall Street. So they’re great to bash and paint as the big bad wolf and also great to take their money… in buckets. All you Obama voters, please tell me, where is your great agent of change? Where is Mr. Transparent? Where is the man who said he would not be like the other Washington types? Where is he? Please tell me because I’m quite interested in this great man you all touted as our future leader. I found Waldo, but I can’t seem to find your man.

Health Care Revealed

Now that health care reform is the law of the land, we are now beginning to see the consequences of that 2,000+ page bill. We now see the little details emerge that have potentially huge consequences for this nation. As reported in Fotune Magazine:
“(Fortune) — The great mystery surrounding the historic health care bill is how the corporations that provide coverage for most Americans — coverage they know and prize — will react to the new law’s radically different regime of subsidies, penalties, and taxes. Now, we’re getting a remarkable inside look at the options AT&T, Deere, and other big companies are weighing to deal with the new legislation.

Internal documents recently reviewed by Fortune, originally requested by Congress, show what the bill’s critics predicted, and what its champions dreaded: many large companies are examining a course that was heretofore unthinkable, dumping the health care coverage they provide to their workers in exchange for paying penalty fees to the government. That would dismantle the employer-based system that has reigned since World War II. It would also seem to contradict President Obama’s statements that Americans who like their current plans could keep them. And as we’ll see, it would hugely magnify the projected costs for the bill, which controls deficits only by assuming that America’s employers would remain the backbone of the nation’s health care system. Hence, health-care reform risks becoming a victim of unintended consequences. Amazingly, the corporate documents that prove this point became public because of a different set of unintended consequences: they told a story far different than the one the politicians who demanded them expected.
In the days after President Obama signed the bill on March 24, a number of companies announced big write downs due to some fiscal changes it ushered in. The legislation eliminated a company’s right to deduct the federal retiree drug-benefit subsidy from their corporate taxes. That reduced projected revenue. As a result, AT&T (T, Fortune 500) and Verizon (VZ, Fortune 500) took well-publicized charges of around $1 billion.

The announcements greatly annoyed Representative Henry Waxman, who accused the companies of using the big numbers to exaggerate health care reform’s burden on employers. Waxman, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, demanded that they turn over their confidential memos, and summoned their top executives for hearings.

But Waxman didn’t simply request documents related to the write down issue. He wanted every document the companies created that discussed what the bill would do to their most uncontrollable expense: healthcare costs.

The request yielded 1,100 pages of documents from four major employers: AT&T, Verizon, Caterpillar and Deere (DE, Fortune 500). No sooner did the Democrats on the Energy Committee read them than they abruptly cancelled the hearings. On April 14, the Committee’s majority staff issued a memo stating that the write downs were “proper and in accordance with SEC rules.” The committee also stated that the memos took a generally sunny view of the new legislation. The documents, said the Democrats’ memo, show that “the overall impact of health reform on large employers could be beneficial.”

Nowhere in the five-page report did the majority staff mention that not one, but all four companies, were weighing the costs and benefits of dropping their coverage.
AT&T produced a PowerPoint slide entitled “Medical Cost Versus No Coverage Penalty.” A document prepared for Verizon by consulting firm Hewitt Resources stated, “Even though the proposed assessments [on companies that do not provide health care] are material, they are modest when compared to the average cost of health care,” and that to avoid costs and regulations, “employers may consider exiting the health care market and send employees to the Exchanges.” (Under the new bill, employees who lose their coverage will purchase health care through state-run exchanges.)

Kenneth Huhn, vice president of labor relations at Deere, said in an internal email that his company should look at the alternatives to providing health benefits, which “would amount to denying coverage and just paying the penalty,” and that he felt he already had the ability to make this change under his company’s labor agreement. Caterpillar felt it would have to give “serious consideration” to the penalty option.

It’s these analyses — which show it’s a lot cheaper to “pay” than to “play” — that threaten to overthrow the traditional architecture of health care.

The cost side

Indeed, companies are far more likely to cease providing coverage if they predict the bill will lift rather than flatten the cost curve. Deere, for example said, “We do expect double digit health care increases as most Americans will now have insurance and providers try to absorb the 15% uninsured into a practice.”

Both Caterpillar (CAT, Fortune 500) and Verizon believe the requirement to allow dependents to remain on their parents’ policies until age 26 will prove costly. Caterpillar puts the added expense at $20 million a year.” (read the rest at http://money.cnn.com/2010/05/05/news/companies/dropping_benefits.fortune/index.htm?cnn=yes&hpt=C2)

Bottom line- as I predicted from the beginning of this fool’s errand, the costs in the end will out-vastly weigh the benefits. And as this article shows, Democrats have manipulated the process from the beginning. The mid-term elections can not come soon enough!!! We need to change the balance in that house and fire Pinky Pelosi!

Dreams Of My White House

Barack Hussein Obama still wakes up today amazed that he was elected president of the United Stated of America. He must pinch himself every morning.  Given all the evidence, facts and proof that came out before the election (and still today) that he is a radical Marxist/Communist.

He still can’t believe he’s in our white house! He knows damn well the American people have woken up and that his 4 years is going fast. He must do as much damage while he’s got the chance of so many lifetimes! He is historic, never before and never again will a communist be in the oval office. They have waited 100′s of years for this moment. This is why he is referred to as “The One”. The one to bring America to her knees.  The culmination of 100′s of years of efforts, writings, teachings and radical ideology are invested in this one man.

He is a miracle to many, to the rest of us; he is the nemesis of freedom. The archenemy of America. Remember, the word “justice” has a very different meaning to the person behind the bars than it does to the person on the other side. These radicals throw the words “justice” and “equality” around to fool the naive. But these words mean something totally different to them than they do to us. And they know it.

Barack Hussein Obama believed that nothing is impossible. He was right.  It’s time for us to wake up and realize that ‘nothing’ is impossible. YES! We have a full blown Marxist running our country! It’s not impossible.  It “IS” !

Dr. Frankenstein’s Journal

Mary Shelley (circa 1817)

The American people take a page from Dr. Frankenstein’s journal.

Obama is our own sick creation. An untamed, uncontrollable and destructive man.

We have ourselves to blame. Like the doctor, American’s initial intentions were good but quickly became obsessed with the unknown. Scholars of the early 1800s warned against engaging in the “Unhallowed Arts” as scholars of today warned us of engaging in the dangers of “Statism”.

In both cases, it was immediately apparent that after the goal was achieved, the experiment had gone horribly wrong. As so with the doctor, the American people experimented with what no man should interfere with. (No man should interfere with life and death and no man should interfere with another’s freedom and well being).

A long battle for survival ensued between the monster and its creator like the battle for freedom between Obama and his “enablers”.  In 1817 there were people who had compassion for the monster and misunderstood the flawed science applied in his creation and underestimated the danger, as we do today, have those very same people.

The rational people of the day understood the abominable creation had a deranged, dangerous mind, and could never be a success for many different reasons besides the obvious, including moral, religious and scientific reasons. They knew he must be destroyed.

In the end, the monster kills his creator. Today, “Freedom” will be killed by the monster we “created” unless the townspeople storm the castle. Back then we went with pitchforks and torches. Today we go with our vote.

We’ve experimented with something we’ve read about and studied but never experienced in this country. History warned us but we did not take heed. We created this. We must stop it. This experiment will certainly be entered into the journal for future generations to learn from…..If their smarter than we were, If they are still Free!

Where’s Archie Bunker when you need him.

Well it’s done. The House has passed health care reform and by Tuesday it will be the law of the land. Even though a majority of Americans do not approve, even though it’s taken more than a year, even though special deals were cut at the outrage of the American public- 30 million new people will have to be absorbed into the current health care system. My first question is where will all the doctors and nurses come from to handle this influx? Many say these people are already seen in our emergency rooms. Which is true. However, they will now be seen in our primary care system which will not be able to cope.  Now let’s move on. The states will be saddled with the burden of having to pay for an expanded Medicaid system that many of these 30 million will be absorbed into. The feds will pay initially but slowly state participation will be required by law. The states can barely pay for their current share of Medicaid with the people already in it. How are they to pay for all these future enrollees?

Next we’ll discuss the health care companies. They have been battered and bruised in this debate. Are they virtuous companies above reproach? No, but they do a mostly good job and employ thousands of Americans. Moreover, health care company profits make up 2% of the costs of health care in this country. After this billed is signed they will effectively become utilities. Yes utilities. You know, those companies who give you heat, gas, water and electricity. The same companies who have annual rate hikes (which our state and local gov’t's always promise to get under control but never do), long phone wait times, poor customer service (and that’s generous) and service interruptions. Well that is what is in store for us in future. You think it takes long to get a general doctor appt? HAAA!! Just wait. In Canada, the average wait time for an appt is 8 months.

Now my favorite part. The part in the bill that says I HAVE to buy insurance. Why? To pay for everyone else? To pay for those who make unhealthy lifestyle choices like smoking and eating badly and then become a burden on our health care system? The basic answer is yes. Well that is crap. I’m young and healthy and make relatively smart choices when it comes to what I put in my body. If I don’t want to buy health care I shouldn’t have to. I’ll certainly ensure I have health insurance when I’m older and my body becomes more run down but the federal government (nor state or local) have the right to force me to buy anything. Now some people say well you have to buy car insurance. Well yes, a car has the potential to be a deadly machine that can run over people and cause property damage. Therefore, we have car insurance. You operate heavy machinery you have insurance. But forcing me to buy health insurance or slap me with a fine? Outrageous. You know what Obama and company? After rent, car insurance, car payment, electric bill, gas bill, cable bill, internet bill, cell phone bill, grocery bill, filling up my gas tank, buying clothes to wear, and if I’m lucky going out with friends from time to time there is no money left to buy health insurance. And giving me a $2,000 subsidy for something that will cost me $6-7,000 is of no help whatsoever. So take your mandated coverage rule and shove it.

Finally, this bill stinks. We can’t afford it. We simply don’t have the money. Are changes needed to our health care system? ABSOLUTELY. But just b/c the cake tasted slightly off doesn’t mean you throw out the whole recipe. You make small changes to make improvements. What was needed was a smaller, smarter and more efficient bill with benchmarks to measure progress. Meaningful tort reform that will ultimately lower the malpractice insurance burden to medical professionals, providing more federal educational grants instead of loans to allow more students to enter the medical profession, allowing inter-state competition to increase choice and lower cost, allowing pick and choose policies (what a 25yr old needs will be drastically different from a 50yr old father of 4), providing incentives to the industry to digitize records, promoting and increasing research and development to ensure the latest technologies are made into reality to increase quality and lower costs, making it worthwhile for business, individuals and health care providers to promote and practice wellness living to improve quality of life and lower costs and finally facilitating the  creation of public/private partnerships on a state and local level to bring health care to those without and stimulate market forces to bring about choice, lower costs and increased quality of care.

In conclusion, it will take years for the full effects of this legislation to be felt. Ask the citizens of TN and MA who already tried universal health care and are now seeing higher premiums, increased costs and business/economic development stifled. But when we do feel the effects it will be federal health care: pentagon prices, post office efficiency and IRS customer service.

(Or we could just triple the tax rate for all Obama/Pelosi/Reid voters and let them pay for this and leave the rest of us the hell alone!)

A Raw Nerve

Not long ago, my job transferred me. I went from a 7 minute commute to a 30 minute commute. At first I was annoyed but quickly got used to it. I take two parkways to work now. There’s plenty of traffic except Sundays.

The first week of the new commute, I was headed to work on a Sunday, driving about 55-60 mph. I drive an SUV and on my back window, I have a decal in memory of my cousin who I grew up with. He was killed on 9/11 when his FDNY Squad responded to the World Trade Center. Both units from his house, Squad 288 and Haz-Mat 1 responded with 19 firefighters. The house lost all 19 men, the most of any house.

As I was driving on the parkway, I came upon on an SUV with a huge, shiny, color decal on the back window of Osama Bin-Laden holding a missile launcher with an Arabic statement under it. As I flew by, I looked at the driver. A clean looking Muslim man, age 55 to 60, wearing a suit. I was angry that whole day. I never saw that before.

Today, months after, I was driving home on the parkway in stop and go traffic. Coming to a stop, I notice a woman in a little Honda with a big “Obama ‘08” bumper sticker. I came to a stop right next to her, and there it was right in front of her, on the back window of another car, a big decal of Bin-Laden and his missile launcher. In the car was a Muslim man, age 35-40, with a long black beard and a turban on his head.

In the 15 seconds we were stopped, first I wanted to ram the guy with my truck. Then I thought, trapped in the middle of rush hour traffic, what’s to stop this guy from detonating a car bomb and taking out 20 cars around him. He is obviously sympathetic to Islamic terrorism and believes in the Jihad. I was thinking to myself, if he was to trigger a suicide bomb, what could I do? Where could I go? Could I get out and run, or would it be better if I stayed in my car till after the blast?

I wasn’t “terrified” but I became concerned, uncomfortable and felt unsafe at that moment. As traffic moved, I maneuvered to get away from his car.

I got into the right lane because my exit was coming up.  Traffic stopped for a few seconds again. Now in a line, it was me and my decal, in front of me was the Honda with the Obama ‘08 decal and in front of her was the Bin-Laden decal. Something clicked.

I was curious what the woman in front of me was thinking. I wondered if she thought “how nice, equality in action!” or did she wet her pants? I was hoping it was the latter. I became furious at this woman in front of me for helping contribute to my feelings of concern and the feeling of being unsafe in my own country.

This experience is not an ironic, isolated incident. It is the second time in a matter of months I’ve come across this Osama decal. I have travelled far and wide in the almost 9 years since 9/11 and I have never, NEVER seen this decal. What has changed?

The cold, hard fact is that we have a president in “our” white house who “aids and comforts” the enemies of America and emboldens the same on our streets. He denounces the country he was hired to represent when abroad. As he bows to the Saudi prince, as he calls the brutal regime of Iran “a great nation”, as he say’s that the U.S. Constitution is “a flawed document”, His allegiance is crystal clear.

The president of the United States is more of a threat than Osama Bin-laden. Bin-Laden is hiding in an obscure cave somewhere. Obama has control of the Oval office.  He is destroying our country from within, right from our white house.

He is nothing less than a domestic national threat. He is doing everything he can, on every front to undermine this country. He walks the extremely fine line of our laws to make sure his damage is lawful. It is the ignorant among us who have inflicted this danger upon us.  If Obama is left unchecked and unchallenged at every single step, America will become a pathetic, empty shell of its former self.

It has been proven time and time again that no words this man utters can be trusted or taken at face value.

We have long dealt with corrupt, criminal politicians but this administration is a different animal all together. The vast majority of Obama’s supporters have no idea who and what we are dealing with here.

This nation was nowhere near ready for this “historic” president.

George W. Bush

What didn’t I like about George W. Bush you ask? Oh so many things…. here are just a few….

First of all….what bothered me the MOST about him was that the man couldn’t even SPEAK!!! He was a complete and utter MORON. Here are some of his quotes…

“Well, I think if you say you’re going to do something and don’t do it, that’s trustworthiness.” Really???

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we’re really talking about peace.” You don’t say!

“Rarely is the question asked: is our children learning?” I don’t know George…. is they?

“They want the federal government controlling Social Security like it’s some kind of federal program.” Word???

“I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family.” No George, you have no idea!

“Most imports are from outside of the country” Is he kidding????

“In my sentences I go where no man has gone before.” Yes George, INDEED you do!

And there are hundreds more!! But I will stop there. Just that fact that a man who spoke this way was representing our country to the rest of the world was absolutely humiliating!!!

When he took office, there was a surplus in the spending budget that turned into a trillion dollar deficit by the time he left office. He never vetoed one spending bill. That’s under a republican controlled congress.

9/11… What else can I say? They were warned that there was an attack being planned on New York City months in advance. Nothing was done. Then he talks about how we’re going to go after the terrorist who planned these attacks and who does he declare war on? Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan? Oh no, of course not! Let’s go after my daddy’s enemy Saddam Hussein in Iraq! Really?

His family’s dealings with the Bin Ladens and the Saudis. They’ve been supporting them since the late 70′s. Arbusto Energy. Which by the way means “Bush” in Spanish. Interesting….

You want to talk about big government interfering in people’s personal lives? That A-hole flew to Washington from his Easter vacation in an attempt to interfere with a family’s personal and private matter in regards to Terry Schiavo.

Honestly, I can’t go any further. Taking this trip down memory lane is just infuriating me. Plus, I really want to hear what you have to say about him Justin.  Let’s see if it’s worth it…

The Last Free Outpost

Beware! The Last Free Outpost, the internet, is under attack!

The government wants to control what you see, watch, read, and buy on the web

Never mind turning on parental control for your kids, the gov. will have parental control over YOU!

The gov. has been drooling over internet control and censorship for years.

The web is the last place to actually learn true facts. When your kids teacher cuts half the history book out of the classroom, you can always go to the web and find the real truth. Kids go to the web to do their homework, research and write their papers all the time.

This isn’t good for the radical left. The government has control over the schools but not over the web.

If the gov. passes the “Net Neutrality” bill, Kids will get the same half-assed, bias information as they do in the classroom.

Can you imagine if it were mandatory that your homepage be “whitehouse .gov”?

Imagine that the address bar and search bar no longer exist; now you choose from a government approved list of sites. Imagine the fines you’ll pay for non-compliance or the extra federal fees on you cable bill.

How about having to submit your browser history with your taxes every year?

Or applying a “cap and trade” system to your bandwidth or paying an extra tax for going over you monthly download quota?  Sound far fetched? It’s not that far once they get their foot in the door. The door will be wide open.

These are all things that the government dreams about applying to the internet. But make absolutely no mistake, this bill is all about the kids.  I’ve said for a long time now that “kids can get a better education on the web than in the classroom. The radical left knows this! And the radical left is in control of the government right now. “Net Neutrality” is coming if we don’t stop it!

Now that “climate change” is in total meltdown, (because the people learned the facts on the internet) look for this to be Al Gore’s new baby.  Remember, Al Gore “invented” the internet, and now it has destroyed him. He’s pissed!

Wait for this one…..”The internet is killing polar bears!’

Update:  A  N.C. school district is proposing to cut “early American history”(our founding) from middle and high school classes. If they do this, look for other districts around the country to follow.

I wouldn’t be surprised if those classes are replaced with classes called “America’s Mistakes” and “Understanding Middle Eastern Culture”.

The Passion

Gun ownership at record highs, national crime rate at record lows since the 1960′s.
Remember, the more law abiding citizens with licenses to carry, the less crime. It’s a natural cause and effect. Crime is down the most since the 60′s and gun ownership is way way up! Why? Because criminals with guns are cowards. Most shootings happen in places where guns are not permitted like schools. When is the last time you heard of a shooting at a gun show or an NRA convention or a shooting range or gun shop? Almost Never! Because 10 people would have 15 different weapons pointing at the bastards head!  These places are the safest places to be! Now let’s multiply that safety and spread it out!

The gun is not your enemy! The person holding it is. If I wanted to kill people, I could get behind the wheel of a car and kill 50 times as many people than with a gun. And all it would take is 1 bullet to stop me! 1 bullet to stop the rapist. 1 bullet to stop that guy in the van from taking your kid. And just 1 bullet to stop that radical professor, Amy Bishop, from first killing her brother and then four fellow professors.

The gun control freaks are very similar to the green freaks. They are not out to protect anyone or save anyone’s life. You can put as many facts and statistics in front of their face, it will not matter. They hate guns because they can’t “control” people who can defend themselves! The gun control movement’s agenda is controlling you, not guns. You can see it in every radical left movement or policy. Healthcare control. Climate control. Gun control. Emissions’ control. Nutrition control. And soon Internet control. It’s NOT about controlling the x-Ray machine, the weather, guns, food ingredients, or a computer. These things inadiment or uncontrollable objects. It’s all about controlling me and you, the people. It’s about controlling what people do, when they do it, how they do it, why they do it and how often.  Are you still free, Of course not. We’re barely free now!

A person can hate guns and never want to touch one, that’s fine, I don’t mind. That’s their right. But please don’t take away my right to defend myself and my family and maybe someday even you. One of my favorite sayings is, “If guns kill people, do pens misspell words?” I love that one! By the way, I can kill someone with a pen if I had to! I can also save someone’s life with a pen of I had to. The point is, whether it’s the barrel of a gun or the barrel of a pen, both can save lives and both can take lives. A fire in the fireplace keeps us warm and cozy yet fire kills millions a year. If someone is DWI and kills someone else, do we punish the driver or the car? If someone commits arson, do we punish the arsonist or the fire? If a serial killer dismembers his victims, do we punish the killer or the chainsaw? If someone shoots someone else, do we punish the shooter or the gun?  It’s very easy to become stupid in the world we live in today.

Guns are made out to be so evil and have such a stigma to them, but they are the reason why we are a free people today! They are the ultimate tool of freedom. This is why people are so passionate about their guns.  Here’s a personal story to enlighten some of the people out there about gun ownership and the license process. Just to be considered for a license I had to fill out a 5 page application in copies of 3, including everything on a job application PLUS- every crime, misdemeanor and traffic ticket ever committed, including any cases that were sealed or dismissed. A printout of my DMV report. A signed waiver for the FBI to look at my medical history and mental history. Every job I ever held. Every school I ever attended and every address I ever lived at. A copy of my birth certificate. Any and all medication I take or ever took. 3 passport photos of my face taken within 6 months. List all tattoos and scares on my body. Have four non family, non law enforcement, references that I’ve known for more than 1 year, fill out character reference forms and write a short essay about me, each of them signing before a notary public. After about a month of getting my application together, I sign everything in front a notary. I then take my app. to police headquarters where I pay $97 for 3 sets of fingerprints and a $200 app. Fee. All non refundable even if denied. I then waited a full 12 months for local, state and federal authorities to investigate me from the day I was born to the day I handed in the application. If one thing I wrote did not match, I would be denied. (Any DWI, any felony or any domestic incident or mental history, ever, don’t even bother). Finally I got my license. I go back to police HQ to get a purchase document good for 10 days. Then I go to the gun dealer, pick my favorite gun, $700 (that’s mid-price). I then go back to police HQ with my gun to have it registered and added to my license and demonstrate safe handling. I won’t bore you further with the voluntary safety and self defense training. My license status is a matter of public record.  My license and gun is revokable at any time for any reason. If my license is revoked, they take my gun or gun’s, no questions asked.  I have to renew my license and be checked every five years. If I change my address I have to notify P.D. Within 10 days. If I get traffic ticket anywhere in the country, the pistol bureau is immediately notified for review. If for any reason the police are called to my house for a domestic dispute, even if the call is “unfounded”, goodbye license, goodbye guns. By law, I must carry concealed. If I’m carrying and I reach up to grab something off a shelf, bend down to put air in my tire or the wind blows my jacket open and someone see my gun, my license can be revoked for “unnecessary display of a weapon”. If my gun is stolen (never gonna happen) and it’s used in a crime, I could be charged with “failing to safeguard a weapon”. Now If I were me, I wouldn’t mind at all having me for a neighbor. Talk about law abiding, you’ll never meet anyone more law abiding than a gun owner. Now you can understand why gun owners are so passionate, so defensive. We are constantly under attack and defending ourselves and our rights against ignorant, ill-informed people. Do we need more regulations, laws and fees put upon us? This is our second amendment right! Look what we already have to go through. Look at the fine line we have to walk. If the gov. comes to take my guns, they take my liberty at the same time! So the next time some anti-gun freak whines about more laws, rules, and regulation, try not to laugh at their ignorance and just shrug them off!

Q: How can I support the Second Amendment?

A: Support the NRA. Member or not, gun owner or not.

Q: where can I learn the facts?

A: At any of these links.
